Higher Ep
Paul Ritch // Paradigma
Paradigma Musik bet again on the young values of the electronic music club scene on their second release. After the success achieved with the first one, by the promising young Spaniard producer Marc Marzenit, it's now the moment for the French fellow Paul Ritch, who comes out with that maxi, "Higher", made up of three tracks. It is only his second work, after his first one on the well-known German label Resopal Schallware: "Grom" ep, a vinyl that is already in the sets of many main djs. He is also preparing releases with labels such as Get Physical Music and MiniSketch. We don't believe that it's going to take long, to have success with that new maxi, so all the tracks, aimed to a dance floor minimal tech house while elegant at the same time, they mean a fresh blow to the overburdened label of minimal, so lightly used nowadays. "Higher", whose name refer to the album is driven by both the most dance floor tech house and the most melodic minimal. It has also a sample vocal letting the track open for all kind of djs, without leaving for that reason the composite quality aside. Even more melodic is "Memory", a cut with all the makings of a hypnotic hit and a remarkable acid flavour moving from the past to the present of dance music with unusual agility, tiptoeing around the most progressive sounds and even around the percussive minimal house that sounds so much lately. It will create a buzz, sure. Finishing up, "Blowbass" clears the remarkable work of Paul with a track that hides under a false electro house look to become gradually in an efficient winding and surrounding piece of tech house, an ideal fit for quality sound system. Therefore, with these references it's difficult not to fall into temptation to listen to this potential talent of music done with machines. Write down the name: Paul Ritch. Soon you are going to get tired of listening to it.
