Happy New Year all and welcome to KOMPAKT.FM

We've been very much looking forward to our website relaunch and hope that you will enjoy KOMPAKT.FM as much as we do. Some may have already noticed the absence of our old mp3 shop KOMPAKT-MP3...no, we haven't forgotten about it - the reason for the shop's closure is completely intentional and probably the most radical part of our relaunch. After four years of pioneering electronic music's digital music shopping, we strongly felt that it was high time to cut down one of the most time consuming aspects of our company in favour of the true reasons why we started KOMPAKT in the first place. That's focussing once again on what we always did best; producing, discovering, distributing and releasing the most exciting music we can imagine.

We anticipate KOMPAKT.FM will be the source you can turn to for the latest (and for that matter, the entire) efforts of our vast exclusive label family, be informed about upcoming shows in your neighbourhood and injest and share tons of information from and about your favourite artists. All we ask in return that you to support our labels collective by buying their music digitally or physically. There are many capable record shops and online retailers out there and we enourage them to use them - this is the time to show them some love! Our own physical mail order will remain offline until its renovation is completed in early spring but there are many shops online who support our music. Digitally, Beatport have partnered with KOMPAKT.FM to offer direct links to all the music available on this site. Without further ado, please cruise our expansive catalogue and check our blog for daily updates.

But where do I find the Profan and Studio 1 stuff? Are there any other online music shops, other than beatport, that offer this type of music. I'm glad Kompakt is moving forward yet it is excellent to see the label going back to its roots. Personally I like the layout of the new site; it's in a way easy to navigate and even easier to find and play records. Best wishes!

The new site is a big improvement. I will miss Kompakt MP3 though, especially being able to buy the old stuff on Profan, Auftrieb, Kreisel 99, etc. That doesn't seem to be available anywhere anymore. Btw, an RSS feed will be more than welcome! :)

It is very difficult time for the dance music and vinyl making industry right now This restructure could be good.. if a distribution company devotes more time to the exclusive labels and develop relationships with them. Since Windsong, Penicle and Neuton closure ,this restructure is needed to survive.Once again support the labels and BUY their Physical and digital releases.Thats the only way for us and indie labels to survive!!
