Tocotronic - Hamburg, Germany's most coveted pop/rock quartet have paved a road in rock music unlike any band in Germany. Now, for the first time, Tocotronic will be released on Kompakt Pop as the remix single to their new album's title track "Pure Vernunft Darf Niemals Siegen." Kompakt co-founder Wolfgang Voigt together with Superpitcher have metamorphosized this mighty song for the dance floor - an intoxicating piece of techno music and potentially the most definitive release for Kompakt Pop to date. Since their inception in 1993, Tocotronic have crafted lyrical and aural metaphors, which consist of fantasy, fairy tales, political subjects and simple words combined with an ever-evolving concoction of pop and indie-rock. Superpitcher's extraordinary talent for arrangement and melody creation alongside Wasserman's legendary vision for creating state-of-the-art dance music make for a perfectly stunning matrimony. "Pure Vernunft Darf Niemals Siegen" moves into a realm beyond the remix, sounding as if the band and Wasserman/Superpitcher had forged this song together in the studio. But there is also a message floating above the sound translated as “Pure reason may never win, we urgently need new lies.” A protest song. A manifesto that is universally and timelessly valid. The times have changed and it's not easy to sit back and watch as many issues in this world no longer can be ignored as they become all too obvious and our boredom of these crimes expand into deep unhappiness. It is high time to “protest”. After all, it is possible to dance politically. Here comes Protest Techno 2005.
Superpitchers Gefühl für Melodie vermischt sich auf's Tollste mit Wassermanns Vision von Tanzmusik.
