Every time he releases a new PROTEST record, WOLFGANG VOIGT seems to aim for no less than the reinvention of electronic music. Of course, that's not possible. But still, to envision the outcome in detail is one of this artist's most important feats: in doing so, his peculiar way of viewing discrepancy as a stylistic device allows for new sounds that transcend the mere track and can even operate as programmatic genres. Irgendwie scheint WOLFGANG VOIGT mit jeder PROTEST Veröffentlichung, die Welt der Elektronischen Musik neu erfinden zu wollen. Geht natürlich nicht. Aber es ist immer richtig es sich in aller Konsequenz vorzustellen. Dabei entstehen durch die ihm so eigenen Art, Widersprüchlichkeit als Stilmittel zu betrachten, neue Klangfusionen, die oft über das Musikstück hinaus, wie programmatische Genres funktionieren.
