Known for his earlier releases on KOMPAKT and FIRM, he is now celebrating his debut on ITALIC with a Techno 12inch Maxi release. POPNONAMES' productions vary between traditional Cologne Techno (On the run), "Border Community" (On the run), "Sound Signature" aesthetics in style of "Howard Thomas" or "Isolee" (Ferry Sponge) and the Cologne definition of singer/songwriter Techno referring to "The Bionaut" (Wonder You). POPNONAME is part of a group of young Techno producers and DJs that can be considered as Cologne's "Beat Generation" of Techno music. What they all have in common is their interest in literature, photography, art, theatre and music resulting in a redefinition of Cologne Techno in a broader sense.
