Jesses tracks are digital feedback club music, relentless and without fear, endless, limited to nothing but its sounds and resources... a cosmic avalanche... a wall of sound...a signal of life ...communication ! "This Fragile Addiction" is an epic, drugged out, mental journey into a world full of nothing but warm, enveloping and shimmering sunlight reminiscent of shoegaze bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive and Lush and also space rock bands such as Sigur Ros and Explosions in the Sky. "For One Brief Moment, I Was There" is a melancholy cloud of crisp and chilling melodies with shattered and stuttering percussion. Jesse brings together his favorite spacey indie rock sounds with the drive of electronic dance music to bring a completely unique and ecstatic experience to the dance floor. His only goal is to make quality emotionally thrilling music which is completely genre defying. "We breathe the stars through each other" has a lot in common with James Holden and friends working on sounds, overtaking the whole track killing minimal music for a second. But his tracks also reveal some of the past of minimal music and how it used to be with techno!

(de) Der Kanadier Jesse Somfay, immer in Schwarz gehüllt mit Schulter langem blonden Haar und auch sonst hat er wenig gemeinsam mit dem Klischeebild eines amerikanischen Techno Produzenten, lässt gerne mit rasierklingenscharfen Dialogen jeden Amerikaner in einer Umgebung von 1 Meter erstummen. Mit seiner zweiten Traum EP "We breathe the stars through each other" hinterlässt Jesse zwei Stücke die einen genialen Moment einfangen, der wie eine moderne Version von Velvet Undergrounds "While Light White Heat" wirkt, oder wie es der Künstler selber sagen würde: "My Bloody Valentine und Pale Saints sind die Einflüsse dieser Platte". Die Stücke sind dementsprechend genauso energetisch wie auch parallelisierend. Somfays Musik steht für ein modernes digitales Feedback letztendlich ist sie aber noch Club Musik. Sie kennt keine Angst, ist nie spießig, kennt kein Ende, ist eine Sound Wand und ein Lebenszeichen oder gar Kommunikation. "We breathe the stars through each other" hat mehr gemeinsam mit James Holden und seinen Jüngern die den Minimal Sound immer wieder durchbrechen, als mit klassischen Minimal Techno. Jesse Somfays Stücke stehen irgendwo auch für den Techno den es ehemals gab und der sich vor nichts fürchtet.
