The Rivington Remixes (Jay Haze & Patrick Zigon)

Gui Boratto // Galaktika
Format // 12"
This is a press release for Galaktika Record's first remix series ever: Gui Boratto's "The Rivington Remixes". Two great producers get a shot at reworking a masterpiece and both come out on top. On side A.- Jay Haze. He runs Contexterrior and Tunning Spork, two excellent labels, has remixed Villalobos, published with Bpich Control and is a part of Fuckpony. On side B.-Patrick Zigion. We've all been hearing about him, he?s just starting and already has remixed for Cocoon,Be as One, Trapez and Traum. As for the new versions... You don't know how you feel about remixes. Sometimes they surprise you but in most cases they're just inferior to the original track. And when the original track is "The Rivington" by Brazilian wonder Gui Boratto, there's almost nothing to be done. The Martinez remix on that EP was good tough, maybe too good. You remember it got a lot of love in the feedbacks, famous people liked it almost as much as Gui's . So, what are you waiting for? Just play track A, you know Jay Haze never disappoints. Like a car it starts, beat flowing like gasoline. There's definitely some Rivington here. The track progresses carefully... and then explodes. A dance floor would be going mad about now and there's more than half a song left. This Jay Haze is pure evil. You're seconds away to just get up and start dancing, but you control yourself. You can't wait for side B, you have been hearing some good things about this Patrick Zigion kid. Leaking it starts, building anticipation. When it blows up, it's amazing. You could listen to this beat forever. A dance floor would be static, in silence, dancing like there was no tomorrow. Focused. You definitely have to listen to this track again. That Patrick Zigion is up to something.
