(en) Mauler is a name used by three fictional character appearing in the Marvel Comics universe. "Mauler" is also an anagram for the suit of power armor the characters wore, standing for Mobile Armored Utility Laser-guided E-beam, Revised. It is also a space project programme for spacecraft satellite exploration and we are sure to find more meanings for Mauler. In our case it is project name of Belgian producer Fabrice Lig. Fabrice has released over 30 records on international well-known labels such as Playhouse, 7th City, Raygun, Kanzleramt and remixes for F-Com, KMS, Virgin Mental Groove and many more. Fabrice originally released a record called Mauler in 2002 on the Dutch label on Keynote and since then reserves the project name for special records different to the ones released under his name Fabrice Lig. The a-side track "Hybrid" of Maulers fist Trapez ltd 12" "The Hybrid Project" is centered around a typical Detroit sounding sequence and through that he develops a strong post Detroit theme, epic and emotion! The epic aspect is special and keeps the spark alive in a Carl Craig fashion. Typical atmospheres, melodies and rhythms, similar to the ones of the Motor-City producers are recognisable, sometimes in microscopic size. "Hybrid" is a real rocker with a nice breakdown in the middle. "Micro Ballad" on the flipside is a hybrid of electro-rhythms, percussion and techno. The track incorporates Kraftwerk sounding sequences with aspect of Muzak and acid basslines coming from far away. This track is for the ones who know!

Der epische Aspekt ist eine Stärke des Stücks und hält über die ganze Länge des Tracks den Funken am glühen, wie auch Musiker des Schlags eines Carl Craig immer wieder durch eine magische Formel ähnlich dieser zu überzeugen wissen.
