Born to music teachers and trained from youth as a multi-instrumentalist, John Selway has been in the mix from the get-go. Taking up electronic dance music from his home base in NYC in the early '90s, John has faithfully represented his town at every turn. As an artist, a record slinger, a label owner and more, he is a musical force to be reckoned with and a bonafied pillar of the scene. Without going too deep into the litany of names we could check, trust us when we say the man's resume is unparalleled. Selway has literally blazed every path, collaborated with every talent, played everywhere, mastered every style, broken every boundary, risen to techno stardom and never forgotten his roots. So many respected DJs and producers around the world will admit to being mentored at one point in their career by this true innovator. Having run the gamut stylistically through his releases with Christian Smith, via his own CSM and Serotonin labels and as part of the always ace Neurotic Drum Band (to mention just a few), Selway's credentials are beyond dispute. If there is any doubt, just check the warm pads and delicate melodies underpinning "Shake The Snow." Listen how those same sounds transmit a whole new feeling in his Reuptake Dub version. For the house heads, Mood Music mainstay Filippo Moscatello (aka DJ Naughty) turns those same pads into a proper old school house workout, complete with bumping 808 rhythms. Last but certainly not least, San Francisco's cosmic maestro The Beat Broker flips "Shake The Snow" once more into a slow-burning bit of motorik dance floor magic.
