(en) James Blonde the person behind Guy Gerber, Chaim and Guy J is not only a person with a great sense of music but has been a musician himself for quite some time. He started making music in the 80's with wave bands in Tel Aviv and moved to Los Angeles as lead singer and guitar player for Grunge bands. In the end of the glam days of LA he played notorious clubs such as `Whisky A Go Go` and `Roxy` on the sunset Strip. After a visit to Tel Aviv for the millennium party and seeing what the great club scene Tel Aviv had to offer those days, he turned onto electronic music and started to manage Tel Aviv _s _Vox _ club. At this time he got to know Chaim who was resident DJ at the _Vox _ club. Soon after they started to produce together and found their project "James Blonde Experience". Following Chaim _s solo 12" "Carolin" on MBF we are now proud to release their debut 12" "Roxy Feeling" on MBF. The whole record is a tribute to _Roxy Music _. You can sense it but not locate it! The title track "Roxy Feeling" is hypnotic with sequencers creating a super, seemingly effortless groove and swelling strings marking a gateway into the subconscious. This dubbed out cool _disco track _ is sensual and at the same time sustains the cool. It has a really great and deep emotional feeling to it and is timeless in it _s stripped down arrangement. On the flip side there are two mixes of "Crack". The first and original mix comes by Chaim & James Blonde. It is in a sense more of a traditional _song _, since it depends stronger on melodies, driving synths and vocoder voices. The track conveys a vision which is beautifully blurred or as looked through a milky glass window. Melodies are heavenly and ghostly, voices are coming from the distance... this is definitely the counterpart to their a-side. A more minimal remix of "Crack" follows by Pele Buys from Hamburg, known also through his Einsmusik project! His mix is straight rocking stripped down German techno-house!

(de) James Blonde der Macher hinter Leuten wie Guy Gerber, Chaim und Guy J ist nicht nur eine Person mit einem genialen Sinn für gute Musik, sondern selbst auch ein Musiker mit viel Background. In den 80ern machte er Musik mit einer Wave Band in Tel Aviv und zog danach nach Los Angeles. In den letzten Tagen der Glam Ära in Los Angeles spielte er in solch bekannte Clubs wie dem _Whisky A Go Go _ und _Roxy _ am Sunset Strip. Nach einem Besuch in Tel Aviv zur Millennium Party und dem beeindruckenden Gefühl, dass die große Techno Szene zu diesem Zeitpunkt bei ihm hinterließ, wurde er zu einem bekannten Promoter der Szene dort und übernahm das Booking von Tel Avivs "Vox" Club. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt lernte er Chaim kennen, der auf seinen Partys als Resident DJ spielte. Beide zusammen gründeten das Projekt "James Blonde Experience". Nach Chaims Solo 12" "Carolin" auf MBF kommt nun ihre erste gemeinsame Debüt Platte auf MBF. Sie widmen die Platte ihren Heroen _Roxy Music _. Der Titeltrack "Roxy Feeling" ist ein hypnotischer Groover, der alleine durch seine findigen Sequenzer Rhythmen angetrieben wird. Scheinbar ohne Kraftaufwand, mit an und abschwellenden Flächen schafft das Stück sich an etwas anzunähern, gewinnt aber zugleich immer wieder Abstand zu dem innewohnenden Gefühl... baut dadurch eine ganz spezielle Art der Kommunikation auf. "Roxy Feeling" ist irgendwo auch ein Dub Track, leicht discoid und stark reduziert was Chaims Handschrift ins Spiel bringt. Auf der Rückseite finden wir zwei Versionen von "Crack". Die Originalversion kommt von Chaim & James Blonde selbst und nähert sich einem traditionellen Bild von Songstruktur an. Der Track ist gespenstig, auf wunderbare Weise verwaschen und emotional und hat somit viel von der New Wave Ästhetik Anfang der 90er wie z.B. die des Labels 4 AD. Ganz anders der Remix von Pelle Buys, bekannt von Einsmusik, der hier ganz reduziert und toolmässig zur Sache geht und den DJ Cut von "Crack" schreibt.
