After a period of silence from Platzhirsch artist, Jason Emsley, he has suddenly reemerged as a new resident of the UK, holding the next 2-track installment of the Platzhirsch "Limited" line. From the get-go, one willimmediately notice a change in direction from our newly relocated London-based neighbor. Due to the early days of his expatriation of America, Jason seems to be feeling a bit homesick, for he has returned to the foundations of his electronic experience – the 808, the 909 and house music! The A-side – "Go" - brings forth echoes of 90s house from the needle-drop; forgoing the current trend of much of the current ill-applied, over-the-top editing, for the simple purity of dance floor sensibility – conservatively focused drum track- count, driving bass, one stab, oneslightly haunting vocal loop and some sexy hardwarereverb – that's it, everyone. Flip to the B-side and you'll find "Parallels" – a track driven solely by percussion and a warm, driving, analog bassline that chugs through to a massive breakdown back into what is arguably one of the sexiest sounds in the electronic music world – 909 rides!
