Bruno Pronsato & Franco Cinelli // Milnormodern
Format // 12"
After strong releases for Orac, Philpot and Telegraph, man of moment Bruno Pronsato presents a debut on Milnormodern that will further his fame as highly reliable producer. "Hide Your Wives" on A starts with a tight bass drum and develops into a hypnotic groover as layer after layer is added to this inventive dancefloor shaker. Mind the title - isn't it profoundly programmatic? Bruno's rich sound design can be witnessed on side B as well - "Twin City" is somewhat deeper, but in this way it might be hypnotizing afterhour dancefloors even more. Though full of clicky samples it still manages to keep to the essentials: Simply true minimal deep freakin' techno - which is indeed what Milnormodern is all about. "Pikone" then is a bit punchier again, playing with sizzling claps and a deep bobbling bassline. And as Bruno's distinctive vocal samples are not to be missed as well, we wonder how this guy develops his unique groove with whatever means applied. Definitely the most subversively kickin' MMR-release so far. Or was "superb" the word I was looking for?
