29 May 2004 must have been a gorgeous day! That night, ANTONELLI performed live at Bullet's in Tokyo and equipped only with an Elektron machinedrum and a hardware sequencer. The image shown in the booklet says it all: "There were no computers used in my live-set and we all had to pull our shoes off." That is typical of the minimalist man from Dusseldorf. And so is his mix: first, he finds out how the land lies by playing some new unreleased tracks. And later, he gives reign to the Disco machine. It is inimitable how Antonelli deals with pop music influences from the 1980s: during the breaks, he highlights them only to make these classic tunes appear and disappear again within the overall texture of the following track . "Between A Peking Duck and A Cupfinal" makes the clock in everyday life tick smarter and more contemporary for more than an hour. In 2004, this glamorous piece of music was originally released on FAT32 Records on CD and for Japan only, but now, thanks to ITALIC, it will be released for Europe and will be strictly limited.
