But, France is the country of the Amour Fou, and so on the flipside he writes a bittersweet declaration of love in two parts with only a few simple english words. For a short moment "I Miss You" takes us in the EBM-disco-heaven between Geneva and Brussels and Hoel is scrubbing the promises of the supersweet woman´s voice on the roaring 80ies bassline. But only until the first beats of "Tears" boom out of the speakers, because then the slick frenchfilterdiscofox easily takes the departure and lets flow the Serotonin through the veins just like Jan Ulrich on the Mount Ventoux at the time. (de) Nach dem Late-Night-Serienkiller von Frank Martiniq geht es mit Vinyl Nr. 17 auf die harte Tour de France. Hoel James heißt unser neuer Mann aus Nantes. Stephane Gougeon hat seine alte Rockgitarre in diesem Jahrtausend endgültig gegen den Sampler und die Bühne gegen das digitale Homerecording-Studio getauscht, seine alten Helden Jimi Hendrix, Robben Ford, Led Zepplin und David Bowie gegen die neuen namens Matthew Herbert und Michael Mayer. Mit "Maurris Light" geht es direkt auf die Langstrecke. Hier ist Ausdauer gefragt, denn rund um die klassisch-rollende Acid-Line und die unbeirrt stampfende Kickdrum ist alles in Bewegung. Hoel moduliert und schraubt mit Ark'scher Präzision und Spielfreude an allen Reglern und schafft eine fast bösartig bass-triefende Technomaschine. Aber, Frankreich ist das Land der Amour Fou, und so schreibt er auf der Flipside mit den wenigen englischen Worten, die jeder versteht, eine bittersüße Liebeserklärung in zwei Teilen. Für ein paar Augenblicke entführt uns "I Miss You" in den EBM-Discohimmel zwischen Genf und Brüssel und Hoel schrubbt die Versprechungen der zuckersüßen Frauenstimme auf einer dröhnenden 80er Basslinie. So einsam hat man sich auf dem vollen Dancefloor seit Anne Clarke nicht mehr gefühlt. Aber nur bis die ersten Takte von "Tears" aus den Boxen dröhnen, denn der slicke Frenchfilterdiscofox nimmt entspannt die Abfahrt, und lässt das Serotonin durch die Adern schießen wie weiland bei Jan Ulrich am Mont Ventoux.
