Bicep are a duo that hail from Belfast, brought together through a common obsession with all things analog. Growing with an amalgamation of jazz, rock and funk helped Bicep form an obscure approach and understanding of music. After each picking up a pair of Technics turntables in their early teens, Andy and Matt Bicep set about collecting records and experimenting to find their own style. Skip forward several years and countless DJ gigs and Bicep realized they needed to make their own brand - succumbing to, as Bicep describe it, "house infused 80s analog inspiration." Sounding like they grew up immersed in classics like "Can You Feel It" and "Strings of Life," Bicep have delivered a 12" that's old school in feel and still utterly current. They even recruited dancefloor dynamo Serge Santiago to turn in an edit with his partner in Retro/Grade, Tom Neville, rounding out EP1 into a three track partystarter! Bicep's first 12" came out on Citizen Kane's NYC edits imprint Ghost Town Records and quickly sold out. Their second 12" has just been repressed by Traveller Records.
