"&" was the driving force for the work of Playmade. In all projects there was always more than one person involved - that was the special spirit, which kept the label going on. Now we want to step forward to another level and leave the "Playground" Playmade behind us to put the focus even more on "&". We will draw a bow between the OLD (Playmade) and the NEW (and music) with a remix for Audision´s "Vanish" (Playmade -008) by SASCHA FUNKE together with a fresh track "Celine" of our Newcomer IVF. We do not have to lose too many words about SASCHA FUNKE, because he is already a well-known artist. As a great DJ and producer of the Bpitch Control family he has released several 12" e.g. "2:1 Für Die Liebe", "Doppelpass" or "When Will I Be Famous", and with "Safety First", "Drei auf Drei" and "Campus" he eternalised himself on Kompakt. Since half a year he is looking after the new Label MEMO with the right touch for deep Detroit-orientated output. Therefore, it is a special honour for us that he could find the time to do this remix for and music. He was the guy who kept the original track of "Vanish" alive, because the DAT tape was lost and he was the only one who had a copy of it. At this point we have to say THANKS again! He is taking out the organic deepness of the original, let a lot of space and push it into this typical Berlin-flavoured melancholic, which you can feel on the empty streets before sunrise. Our Newcomer IVF went through an exceptional past. IVF was conceived in a lab in 1977. Life in a retort was about to cease and after an exhausting childhood in a wealthy part of the city he spent his youth in an artificial world of music and fine arts. In 1995, IVF started to leave this world and went to a club with some friends. There, they danced to House-Music alongside homosexual men. While he was on a journey, which included a visit to the record store Sonic Groove, IVF bought "let it out" by Norty Cotto. Sometimes, he still listens to this record, opens a bottle of Brunello di Montalcino and takes a nostalgic look into the past. Besides red wine from Italy, IVF likes to drink tomato juice, which is always served in Lufthansa-airplanes. However, his fear of flying forces him to hit the road to the supermarket in order to get replenishment (by the way: overseas booking-requests will not be dismissed right away but at least be considered). In spite of the travelling-deficit, IVF does not have the feeling to miss out on something. On the contrary: He gained a profound knowledge of the world while being on tour with various Indie-Rock bands, which he was a member of. This knowledge is now a part of his artistic opus.
