It's early days yet, but things are going well for the London-based trio FACTORY FLOOR: Nik Colk (guitar/vocals/electronics), Gabe Gurnsey (drums/ electronics) and Dom Butler (electronics/vocals). And Optimo Music are in the unique position of doing a remix for Factory Floor and having a exclusive single release for it. “~ (R E A L L O V E)” An Optimo (Espacio) Mix is already getting attention from James Holden, The Quietus, and it was only mastered about a fortnight ago. The Optimo (Espacio) mix was made at the behest of Factory Floor and was done by Optimo music head honcho JD Twitch alongside his sometimes collaborator Dave Clark.

Their first release with this line up, a 10" Vinyl + DVD package came out only last month on blastfirstpetite. Already the NME gave it a 9 out of 10 (only the 3rd record on 18 months to receive such response). They called it "The final point of a dystopian triangle begun earlier this year by These New Puritans and Liars"....."soundtrack of an underworld disco"....most poetically ."never before has disco been so beautifully cruel" Artrocker summed up the release as "soaring above their peers" and an "intense, challenging & ultimately rewarding" intense experience.

Live performances by Factory Floor have already developed a considerable , if forboding reputation. The NME - "Piston drums kick in, jaws drop" , Artrocker "bearing withness to them in a live environment is an eye opening experience that many will benefit from"...."the antithesis of conventional pop structures". They've toured with Fuck Buttons and Cold Cave, played shows with Liars, HTRK and Andy Weatherall. Stephen Morris, the drummer and rhythm king for music legends Joy Division & New Order produced the original version and continues to work with the band on remixes and new tracks.

The Quietus wrote in January of this year of FF "crushing their former contemporaries" with "crescendo, crescendo, crescendo", "made from the three elements of Sonic Youth, Throbbing Gristle and Trance (music)". More Optimo Music for your listening pleasure.
