Supersoul Recordings was founded by Xaver von Treyer on April Fool's Day 2006 (date inspired by the founding dates of Apple Computers and Einstürzende Neubauten). The objective of the label is to release music for dancefloors that has a strong connection to the roots of groove heavy electronica (Krautrock, Italo Disco, Chicago House & Detroit Techno) without being purely nostaligic, rather transporting the heritage of those styles into the third millenium.Supported by some of the best DJs in the world Supersoul Recordings has managed to forge their own style of future dance classics since the very first release. In 2008 NY's ubercool label DFA released a double CD compilation introducing the label's first 2 years of releases to a larger audience resulting in a commercial and critical success which catapulted the label into public attention.
