Raster Noton just sent us this brilliant short sound film "u_08-1" from leading sound/artist Carsten Nicolai's acclaimed 2008 unitxt album. Featuring vocals from Anne James Chaton and acted by Kyusaku Shimada, we're very proud to premiere this on KOMPAKT.FM!

 

His 2008 album "unitxt"  relies on mathematical processes to govern rhythm (rather than traditional sequencers), utilizing machine noises — modems, telephones, and fax tones — for most of its sounds.
