Immer 3 and Freiland Klaviermusik set to release next Monday!

June 7th is a special day for Kompakt. Two of Kompakt's most pivotal members will release new titles next Monday; Michael Mayer's "Immer 3" and Wolfgang Voigt's "Freiland Klaviermusik" will both mark the beginning of a number of special releases to come from Kompakt in the following weeks.

Get ready for the return of Immer! Michael Mayer's beloved mix CD is back after an eight year hiatus. Immer remains one of the most cherished and respected mix CD’s of all time, having recently made countless “best of decade” charts, plus earning a #1 position of “Best Mix CD Of The 00’s.” Immer 3 is not just another compilation CD, but a look into the heart and mind of Michael Mayer. His track selection runs deeper than the ordinary mix of dance floor hits, but rather a selection of timeless tracks that evoke much more than just the desire to dance.

Wolfgang Voigt also returns to the forefront with his a dditions to his 2008 release of "Freiland Klaviermusik," which will be released under the Kompakt sub-label "Profan." This is also a special release in that Freiland Klaviermusik is more than just a compilation of songs, it's a presentation of music that is not only close to Voigt's heart, but also represents a philosophy that combines art, music, and history. Freiland Klaviermusik is Voigt's method of eliminating the boundaries between freely played or improvised music and that of a machine, combining the underlying theme from both; one single sound varied in different ways surrounding the main basic idea of minimal-techno: the four to the floor bass drum. Freiland, much like Immer 3 portrays the thoughtful process in production and compiling that both of these producers share. 

Wolfgang Voigt will also be presenting a special edition of his Freiland Klaviermusik that will be released exclusively at Kompakt.fm. Limited to 175 copies, this special edition will include a hand-signed and hand-painted Ep of Freiland Geduld with a remix by DJ Koze, plus a copy of Freiland Klaviermusik, the full length CD. This limited edition 12"+CD will be available only at Kompakt.fm from June 25th.
